The global ecumenical journey reached a significant milestone this past October as theologians, church leaders, and young scholars gathered in the heart of the Egyptian desert. The Sixth World Conference on Faith and Order, organized by the World Council of Churches (WCC), convened from October 24–28, 2025, at the historic center of Wadi El Natrun.

October 16th is World Food Day. We wanted to take a moment to thank y’all for your continued commitment to ending hunger through prayer, advocacy, and action. As we mark this day, I encourage you to consider using it as an opportunity to:
- Promote the Prayer & Action Against Hunger Coalition within your networks – https://www.wvi.org/…/prayer-and-action-against-hunger…
- Share resources from the Weekend of Prayer & Action Against Hunger – https://www.wvi.org/hun…/resources-events-hunger-nutrition
- Support the FastPrayGive of the https://wesleymen.org/ or known as The World Fellowship of Methodist and Uniting Church Men. Since 2011, WesleyMen has focused on bringing awareness to and exposing the realities of global hunger, severe malnutrition, and starvation. We work to recruit and equip leaders in the movement to end world hunger. We welcome leaders who will equip persons in their sphere of influence to engage in compassionate action and justice. Since 2016, we’ve operated FastPrayGive.org as our primary initiative. – https://fastpraygive.org/
Whether through a social media post, a prayer gathering, or giving to WesleyMen, today is a powerful moment to remind the world that hunger is not inevitable — and that faith communities have a vital role to play in ending it.

The WMC General Secretary expresses hope for the Peace Agreement for the situation in Gaza:
- We prayed, and continue to pray for peace and for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
- I welcome the possibility of peace that these negotiations represent and pray that they may last.
- May the negotiations bring an end to the attack on Gaza and an end to the killing of the Gaza population by arms, bombs and starvation;
- The release of the remaining hostages;
- The release of Palestinian prisoners.
- The future requires rebuilding, healing, and a political way ahead.
- To that end, we expect Palestinian political leaders to be released from prison, including Marwan Barghouti.
- We continue to pray for peace, for the end of the blockade on Gaza, for the end of the military occupation of the Palestinian Territories, and for the implementation of the two-state solution.
- Christ is the Prince of Peace. May all learn to live in peace and promote justice for a peaceful co-existence.
