Ministerial Exchange Program

The Ministerial Exchange Program (MEP) is currently accepting applications for a limited number of exchanges in late (Sept.-December) 2018.

The Ministerial Exchange Program (MEP) began in 1947 to develop ties between Methodist clergy and churches in the United States and England. It is planned to expand to Methodist congregations in other countries. Since its inception the MEP has afforded a deeper appreciation for and understanding of those who share the Wesleyan heritage in a different cultural setting. Further, it has made a distinctive Methodist contribution in the larger ecumenical movement around the world.

The MEP provides a marvelous opportunity for an exchange between clergy and congregations wherever Methodism advances the gospel of Jesus Christ in the world. Traditionally, exchanges have been made between U.S. and U.K. pastors; however applicants may apply from any WMC member church so long as permission and support has been granted from the local church and Bishop/Superintendent. Placement is dependent on available matches from desired area of exchange.
