The World Methodist Council invites you to submit a proposal for event management services, as per the below-linked Scope of Work/Terms of Reference (TOR). The World Methodist Council, in partnership with the host church (Uniting Church in Sweden), is planning the organization of the 22nd World Methodist Conference in Gothenburg, Sweden, to take place from 18-21 August 2021.   The Conference takes place every 5 years. The conference brings together representatives from Methodist, Wesleyan, United and Uniting Church families across the world. Furthermore, the Conference will host numerous guests from partner churches and organizations.  The aims of the conference are to:

Bishop Rosemarie Wenner, appointed Geneva Secretary for the 2016-21 quinquennium, recently attend the World Council of Churches (WCC) Executive Committee on 7-9 June. This was the first meeting she attended representing the World Methodist Council in this role. Also attending the WCC Executive Committee meeting was Bishop Mary Ann Swenson from The United Methodist Church, serving as vice-moderator. Reformed Churches Adopt Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification

The World Methodist Council (WMC) was present to witness the fourth world Christian body to adopt the Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification (JDDJ) on 5 July at the 26th General Council of the World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC) in Wittenberg, Germany. Looking on during the signing were WMC’s President, Rev. Dr. Jong Chun Park and General Secretary Ivan Abrahams. Bishop Rosemarie Wenner, WMC’s Geneva Secretary, was also present in the congregation. The WCRC signed the document, joining Catholics, Lutherans, and Methodists in confirming our shared witness to the Gospel. During the ceremony, the WCRC also signed a “Wittenberg Witness”

Today (12 June) is World Day Against Child Labour

Today the World Methodist Council observes World Day Against Child Labour, joining its voice with others around the Globe, to bring awareness to the plight of innocent children caught in conflict and disaster, and forced into labour. Over 1.5 billion people around the world live in countries affected by conflict, violence and fragility, and around 200 million people are affected by disasters every year.
